Wingers. The prolific try scorers that are constantly on the end of damaging players, whilst needing to be able to hold their own against their opposition counterparts in defence.

Speed, power and skill are a must in the NRL, and the top 10 wingers in the league certainly aren't short on any of the aforementioned attributes.

For the purpose of this list, only full-time club wingers will be considered. Holmes and Gagai are no doubt top 10 wingers, however, it is not their position at club level and are not taken into consideration. Fusitu'a is also considered a centre.

9. David Nofoaluma

Arguably the most underrated and undisputedly the most underappreciated winger in the game is the Tigers star. He played in all 20 games this year for the Tigers, scoring 17 tries, producing seven try assists, making 17 line breaks and breaking an eye watering 118 tackles.

He also ran for 178 metres per game, many coming from the Tigers' end off the field. He had a career best year and shapes as a genuine strike weapon out wide for the Tigers in 2021. If not for a magnificent crop of wingers he would have been in the Origin squad.

  1. I support the Panthers in letting Mansour go. He had a pretty good season in 2020. However, he’s an elder statesman & really isn’t that quick. He’s often been easily run around by faster wingers for quite a few seasons. He gets out jumped by taller players. He costs too much, especially for a winger.
I think you’ll find that Charlie Staines, will quickly become a top 5 winger. As long as he can avoid too many hamstring injuries. He’s very good under the high kicks & is very fast . As fast as anyone in the game .
Penrith requires at least one other good centre. Especially without Naden. Wingers? Not so much. They’ll have two of the best around!

  2. I wouldn’t. Still think To’o is just as good as Nofoaluma. Staines could be better than him & is already faster.
I just support the Panthers position to keep Staines. If they had to let Mansour go, the Tigers are welcome to buy him.

  3. eh idk IMO Nofoaluma the most underrated winger in the NRL. He doesnt only bring tries, he makes so many metres and takes so many runs when we need him. Sure not the fastest, but I wouldnt say hes slow. He makes up for it with his footwork and strength. Idk I think its disrespectful to put him below To’o and Mansour because hes been so good for so long

I didn’t make any comment on the position the story writer had Nofoaluma in , for the top ten.
If you’re going to go by metres made though. Old Mansour had him & To’o covered last season. Still, there’s more of a future in keeping To’o & Staines at Penrith. Than keeping Mansour.
Got to say, that if To’o or Staines were for sale. West’s would be first in line to try & buy them. Just as they are for just about any Penrith graded players or juniors.
    Out-of-puff…
Morris may have done well , for your premiership buying club. Still, he’s not got long to go. He’s old too!

  7. Not my premiership buying club…
Old and nearly done he may be, still the pick of that bunch. Experience plays it’s part. I like the look of Staines and also Ramsay but a very long way to go to be in Morris’ league as a winger.

  8. If the Roosters had better prospects. For them that would mean buying younger players from elsewhere. Then they’d get rid of the brothers as well. In fact, any club would.
Played well . Still, got away with one year of not many injuries. Which also come with age. How many injuries next season? Both have had plenty before.
