A new coach, reportedly a new halfback, $3.5+ million dollars to spend and all the time in the world. I don't think it's crazy to say that the Sharks are going to look very different in 2022.

Craig Fitzgibbon has the proverbial "war chest" at his disposal with huge money contracts ending and multiple roster spots opening up.

With the salary cap in mind, below are the five players I believe the Sharks should, and possibly will, target for 2022.

FIVE TRADE TARGETS FOR: Brisbane Broncos, Canterbury Bulldogs

Rather than just name the five biggest names currently without a contract for next year and beyond, we're going to take into consideration reports and likelihood.

Let us know in the comments who you believe the Sharks should target.

3. Daniel Tupou

The Sharks backline stocks have been heavily depleted throughout the season but even at full strength, the Sharks need a star recruit to help them find that punch they lack.

Sione Katoa looks a dead on five-plus-year prospect on the wing. His ability to score ridiculous tries and make plenty of metres is a huge plus to a side lacking speed or power.

Daniel Tupou's agent should be fielding calls every day from the Shire club, offering him three years to play on the opposite wing in the Shire.

Ronaldo Mulitalo is a fantastic prospect but is often burned on his outside. I still maintain that his best position is in the centres.

Tupou would allow a tall option for kicks, something the Sharks have lacked for years, whilst adding Origin experience and 200+ return metres each and every game.
