A new coach, reportedly a new halfback, $3.5+ million dollars to spend and all the time in the world. I don't think it's crazy to say that the Sharks are going to look very different in 2022.

Craig Fitzgibbon has the proverbial "war chest" at his disposal with huge money contracts ending and multiple roster spots opening up.

With the salary cap in mind, below are the five players I believe the Sharks should, and possibly will, target for 2022.

FIVE TRADE TARGETS FOR: Brisbane Broncos, Canterbury Bulldogs

Rather than just name the five biggest names currently without a contract for next year and beyond, we're going to take into consideration reports and likelihood.

Let us know in the comments who you believe the Sharks should target.

4. Kurt Capewell

Sometimes to look forward you need to look back. Kurt Capewell left the Sharks in an effort to secure a regular starting spot. He's now done just that at Penrith.

He also made his incredible Origin debut and looks set to play a huge role in the Panthers 2021 title charge.

Capewell has been linked away from the club as he looks for a career defining deal. He's earned the right to secure a much higher money deal than he is currently on.

Both the Broncos and Sharks can provide this, as well as regular roles. With Wade Graham's future somewhat in doubt due to concussions and links to the Super League, Capewell could either slot straight in or become a regular from the bench.

Capewell's returning to the Shire would be a brilliant storyline and would benefit the Sharks in a big way.
