Manly Sea Eagles vs North Queensland Cowboys

Superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic could be rested for this clash following his stint with New South Wales, according to The Daily TelegraphThe report also suggests that Jake Trbojevic will play on limited minutes, while Daly Cherry-Evans remains in the frame to play both matches in two days. Manly will lose Tevita Funa and Sean Keppie through suspension, but will welcome back Dylan Walker back. Veteran playmaker Kieran Foran is tipped to return from injury and slot into the the halves, moving Josh Schuster into the forward pack. Curtis Sironen will still be needed to prove his fitness should he make his long-awaited return.

The Cowboys' Origin trio in Valentine Holmes, Kyle Feldt and Coen Hess will need to pull up fresh from the series opener to be in line for selection. Hess unlikely to feature for the Maroons but is placed in the 18th man role. Todd Payten will welcome Tom Dearden from the Broncos after releasing Jake Clifford to Newcastle, with the young halfback set to slot into the halves. Payten will also welcome Jason Taumalolo, Lachlan Burr and Francis Molo, but lose Mitch Dunn through suspension.

Cronulla Sharks vs Penrith Panthers

Teig Wilton, Josh Dugan and Mawene Hiroti return from suspension for the Sharks, who are also set to welcome back Sione Katoa from a knee injury. Dugan and Hiroti noted as not certainties to take their place back in the 17.

Ivan Cleary will have to weigh up the selection of his seven Origin representatives just two days after the series opener. Stephen Crichton told NRL.com that the club isn't expecting any of the Origin-named stars to feature in the game. The Panthers will welcome the return of Moses Leota from suspension and will be forced into a shuffle at the back with stars returning from Origin should they be fit.

Gold Coast Titans vs Sydney Roosters

David Fifita, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Moeaki Fotuaika and AJ Brimson will all feature for the Maroons on Wednesday and could be in line for a quick call-up to the Titans just days later. A stellar debut from Jayden Campbell could hand Brimson some much-needed rest as he recovers from a hamstring complaint. Titans will welcome Herman Ese'ese from suspension and could have Mitch Rein back from a shoulder injury should he be named fit.

James Tedesco is the Roosters' only Origin representative and could be handed a breather this weekend, with Joey Manu taking on the fullback duties once again, while Joseph Suaalii impressed last week. Chooks set to welcome back Sam Walker following a spell at 18th man and Angus Crichton from suspension, while Freddy Lussick is in the frame for a return from injury. Nat Butcher is also set to miss due to an ankle injury.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Newcastle Knights

Seven South Sydney players are currently training in Origin squads, and Wayne Bennett is unlikely to welcome them all back for this weekend's clash. Josh Mansour and Liam Knight could be declared fit for returns as spots open up across the board for the Rabbitohs. Taane Milne should be fit for selection despite a rib injury from Round 12.

The Knights' woes continue, with Kalyn Ponga, Mitchell Pearce, Tyson Frizell, Edrick Lee, Chris Randall and Hymel Hunt all sidelined through injury and David Klemmer serving a suspension. Adam O'Brien's headaches will surely mean no rest for Daniel Saifiti, who will feature for the Blues on Wednesday. Starford To'a is also in doubt due after suffering further setbacks last weekend against the Eels.

Canberra Raiders vs Brisbane Broncos

Curtis Scott has been stood down from the club due to an ongoing investigation and is unlikely to play. Jack Wighton is likely to feature given his part-time role with the Blues on Wednesday. Josh papalii makes his return from suspension, but the Raiders will lose Ryan James for a similar matter. The Green Machine will also be without Corey Horsburgh due to a wrist injury, while Joey Tapine is set to be named after battling a knee setback.

Xavier Coates and Payne Haas will represent the Maroons and Blues respectively, with the pair both in line for selection. Jamayne Isaako could face the chop following a poor outing last Thursday, with exciting debutant Selwyn Cobbo potentially getting the fullback job. Alex Glenn and Kobe Hetherington will need to prove their fitness after suffering injuries in the past week.

New Zealand Warriors vs Melbourne Storm

Reece Walsh and Adam Pompey have been handed bans, meaning Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will return to his traditional fullback duties. The Warriors are also set to welcome Addin Fonua-Blake back from injury in what will be a major boost for Nathan Brown's side. Ken Maumalo and Rocco Berry are in the frame for selection due to injuries, as is Kodi Nikorima.

The Storm have five players currently in Origin camp, with Felise Kaufusi the only player not battling injuries in the build-up to Wednesday's clash and could be the only one out of the quintet to play. They will lose Reimis Smith and Nelson Asofa-Solomona to suspension and will need Kenny Bromwich to prove his fitness from a rib injury.

Parramatta Eels vs Wests Tigers

Mitch Moses will need to prove his fitness after suffering a calf injury in the Newcastle win, while Reed Mahoney is set to miss with a shoulder complaint. Joey Lussick is set for a call into the hooker spot in Mahoney's absence. Junior Paulo is likely to feature despite playing in Origin.

Joe Ofahengaue will likely be named despite Origin duties. Jake Simpkin is also in the frame for selection, while Moses Mbye and Thomas Mikaele tipped to miss due to a knee injuries. Luciano Leilua and Jacob Liddle will need to prove their fitness after undergoing HIAs.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs St George Illawarra Dragons 

Sione Katoa and Chris Smith return from suspension, while Jeremy Marshall-King and Corey Allan look to have recovered from foot and shoulder injuries respectively. Will lose Brad Deitz due to a hamstring complaint.

Tariq Sims will run out for the Blues on Wednesday and could back it up five days later with the Dragons. His return would push Jack Bird back into the centres. Ben Hunt was a late call up for the Maroons but is likely to feature for the Dragons too. Jack de Belin will likely remain on the interchange as he looks to add to his return. Poasa Faamausili will need to prove his fitness after a failed HIA last week against the Broncos.
