The Canterbury Bulldogs have launched yet another poaching raid on a rival club's junior talent, snaring the signature of St George Illawarra Dragons junior Noah Fitzgerald.
A young halfback who worked his way through the Harold Matthews Cup with the Illawarra Steelers this year, his management have confirmed Fitzgerald has locked up a deal with the Bulldogs through to the end of 2028.
The Steelers finished fourth in the under-17 competition this season, with Fitzgerald in and out of the team, but building his game through local rugby league commitments.
A Western Suburbs Red Devils junior, Fitzgerald only turned 17 in March and was rated highly by Dragons pathways coaches.
The Bulldogs earlier this week were revealed to have locked up the signature of Api Amone out of the Illawarra junior system, with the young forward being the brother of another ex-Dragon in Talatau Amone.
Phil Gould and his recruitment staff have been working hard to future proof the club, with the blue and white also recently locking up the signing of talented junior representative fullback Connor Votano for 2027 and beyond.
For the Dragons, it's their second end of season departure in recent times, with talented outside back Tex Anderson confirming he would join the Dolphins for 2027 and beyond.
Fitzgerald will likely start out in the SG Ball Cup over the next two years for the Belmore-based outfit, but could progress towards the Jersey Flegg once his early-season commitment is over in that competition during 2027, or more likely, 2028.
