Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson has confirmed the club are still hopeful that Connor Watson will be cleared to play in the grand final, while also claiming Victor Radley will have nothing to worry about over a hip drop that was penalised and saw him placed on report.
Radley was one of the best for the Roosters in their grand final qualifier against the Dolphins, particularly during the first half, but came up with a worrying tackle in the first half.
The hip drop like offence originally seemed to show him hitting the turf before the back of the legs of the Dolphins ball carrier, but a third camera angle from the other side appeared as if he had fallen on the left leg.
Robinson though didn't see it that way, with the NRL's match review committee to reveal any charges on Saturday morning.
"He went to his knees before there was weight on that, so that's how I saw it and there wasn't any force on that. I'd say he will be right on that," Robinson said of Radley.
The Roosters have a secondary concern to worry about, with Connor Watson copping a concussion during the game.
The incident seemed to show Watson hit the ground unprotected in an awkward looking bit of contact, before stumbling after he got up.
Originally ruled to be Category 2 symptoms, the Roosters were then overrueld by the independent doctor who upgraded the symptoms to Grade 1, ruling him out of the game and subjecting him to the 11-day stand down.
Robinson though said Watson was doing tests immediately after fulltime to understand how he was, with confirmation the Roosters will want him to play in the grand final.
"Well that was a hard one, because it went in as a Category 2, and then came back as a Category 1 after a couple of minutes," Robinson said.
"He is in the middle of doing his tests now to see where he is at because he got ruled out of the game, so I'd say it's a watch this space on Connor.
"It depends on how his tests go now, so we will see how that goes after the next half an hour."
The Roosters now have a nine-day turnaround to the grand final, where they will meet either the Penrith Panthers or Newcastle Knights next Sunday.
