during the round nine NRL match between the Canberra Raiders and the Gold Coast Titans at GIO Stadium on May 5, 2018 in Canberra, Australia.

The Gold Coast Titans will soon announce the signing of Canberra forward Shannon Boyd on a four-year deal worth $2.4m, according to Pete Badel and Travis Meyn of The Courier Mail.

The Titans are set to announce the news at 2pm, with Boyd set to leave the Raiders after five seasons in the nation’s capital.

The Titans recently signed Jarrod Wallace to a four-year deal, but will now add Boyd to their forward pack, after he knocked back a contract offer to remain in Canberra.

Boyd has played 100 games for the Raiders, scoring nine tries during his first grade career.

The 25-year-old has played every game for Canberra so far this season.

  1. Hmmm, hard to believe the Raiders let this one go, considering Junior Paulo is also supposedly heading back to Parra..
    very strange indeed.

  2. Thought the Dragons might have had a go for Boyd. Shame, a good prop is worth $600k with current cap.

  3. Well its no surprise to see Boyd go along with Paulo.
Raiders have a bad habit of letting quality players.
Its not that the Raiders cant afford to pay a bit more players its just that they wont pay big dollars.
Makes one wonder what their salary cap is actually spent on.
No premiership since 1994, 24 odd seasons and it will be another 24 they way they are going.
Time for clean out of club at upper levels and that includes the coach.

    • Ricky will leave a tumultuous mess for someone, just like he did at Parramatta. Remember the despair he had Reni Matua in! Sadly he was a very good footballer, but a very unpleasant man!
Ricky Stuart simply should not be held in the regard that he is, purely unlikable in character!

  4. Not worth it at all hes never been that good and doesnt play big minutes titans are so desperate like when they threw 1.4mil and dce the fools

    • 54nilparra, the Titans need a new Recruitment manager…
how the hell does a player who played 1 Australian game (off the bench for 10 mins, with half the usuals out injured, 2.5years), warrant the title “Rep Player”. he has been playing off the bench for the struggling Raiders, would be playing reserve grade at any other club. Waste of money.

  5. With the high chance of the interchange dropping back next year i dont think its that strange that Stuart is offloading some extra kilos.Just hope that BA is holding back from signing forwards waiting to see what happens.Has to be some method to his madness or maybe he is just the myth i thought all along

      • whatever happened with Kane Evans, saw him sitting with Hayne. Is he dropped, injured, looking at switching to lifestyles to Coogee/Redfern????

        • Haha hes just terrible and offered them nothing he could be injured but yea they bought a lemon there. Like hayne
