Queensland's own Amy Shark is set to perform at Origin III in celebration of former captains, farewelling Cameron Smith, Wally Lewis, Mal Meninga, Allan Langer and Darren Lockyer.

The night will also include a tribute to Maroons fullback Billy Slater, who will be Queensland's captain for his final Origin match.

"Cameron and Billy have been two of Queensland's greatest players and have been a key part of their successful dynasty," NRL Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Abdo told nrl.com.au.

"They have created history together and we want to provide both players a fitting tribute and give Queenslanders and all fans of the game the chance to farewell their heroes.

"It will be great to have homegrown Queensland artist Amy Shark perform for this special occasion."

The Gold Coast singer and songwriter, set to release her highly anticipated new record on July 13, said she was thrilled to be performing during the celebration.

"I've watched Origin since I was in primary school so playing Suncorp Stadium for Origin Three is going to be incredibly special for me," she said.

"My Mum and Dad are going to be extremely happy."

Before hitting the big time in her music career, Shark was also a video editor with the Gold Coast Titans.
