New signing Mitchell Moses could be thrust straight into the action after the Parramatta Eels confirmed that halfback Corey Norman will be sidelined with a knee injury for a lengthy period.

Norman was forced from the field in the club's Round 10 loss to the Sydney Roosters and scans have since confirmed that he'll be sidelined until Round 17.

The club has a bye during that period and that means Norman will effectively only miss five games if he's rehab goes to schedule.

With the return of fullback Bevan French this week and the signing of Mitchell Moses today, Eels fans we could see a halves partnership of Moses and versatile Clinton Gutherson in the interim.

Moses has been named in the Eels extended bench for Round 11.
