Corey Norman set to be sidelined with injury

Corey Norman is set to be sidelined for a while after the Parramatta halfback was forced from the field during Sunday’s 48-10 loss to the Roosters.

Norman was injured early in the second half and Eels coach Brad Arthur believes they will be without their star half for a number of weeks.

“I think – obviously they’ll need to send him in for scans – but I think I’ve been told a grade two medial,” Arthur said after the game.

“We’ll have to get scans, but I don’t know, four weeks.”

  1. Well that’s Parras season. No Norman no Parra. Shame for him he was in line for a origin debut.

  2. It’s really unlucky for Tom and Corey, only had to get through the games and origin debut was there. Very unlucky. Get to see some young guns step up at least. Not sure who’s going to play for Norman but for Manly Hastings will get a massive opportunity in the fullback spot plus we finally have a good goal kicker! Hope both players return better than they left.

    • I think with French coming back he will go to fullback and Guth back to halves. Which is worrying as I don’t know who will put any points on. Feel for Turbo, he had become a lock for Origin 1. I think this will open the door for Walker though, as I think he was going to be the one to miss out, even with his form. NSW back 5 will now be Tedesco, Hayne, Walker, Dugan, Fergo.

      • And you’ll probably get Moses with tigers about to get Lolohea. I hope Walker gets a go, he’s origin made. Last year wasn’t an accurate representation of what he can do, this year hasn’t skipped a beat, and he’s only 22 needs to be given the centre spot.

        • Yeah I think Moses will be there soon, which will help the halves situation. I guess the whole Brooks thing over the weekend may impact that, but it looks like he will be OK there I think.

Walker has earned his spot this year, last year I wasn’t convinced he did. It is unfortunate that he will probably only get it due to Turbo’s injury, but that is the game I guess.

  3. I don’t think Hayne should be in the team. Jennings never passes the ball in origin. I’d go Tedesco, Tupou, Jack Bird, Dylan Walker & Blake Ferguson. Toups form is great with Fergo, they carry the ball back out of danger and in attack they are aerial specialist. Jayne for mind, doesn’t deserve to walk back into the arena.

Queensland side should be Slater, Boyd, Chambers, Gagai, Holmes, Munster, Cronk, Thaiday, Smith, Napa, Gillett, Gavin Cooper, McGuire, Wallace, Coen Hess, Aiden Guerra, Morgan. 18th Oates
