Raiders star Jack Wighton has been stood down by the club for Saturday's clash with the Broncos following the fullback's indiscretions in February.

The 25-year old appeared in court in April and was accused of assaulting at least four people. He pleaded guilty to two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on Thursday.

Wighton's future at the Raiders is on shaky ground following a statement made by the club on their website.

"Canberra Raiders today stood down Jack Wighton from this week's match against the Broncos and will convene a Board Meeting next week to discuss his position," the statement reads.

"The Raiders will consult the NRL and are mindful that Jack was today referred to the Galambany Court next Wednesday 4th July.

"The Raiders Board will consider the matter further in the light of the Galambany Courts decision next week.

"The club will not be making further comment until this process is complete."

Wighton will face court next week for sentencing.
