A shockwave went through the Shire this week on the back of reports that Teig Wilton would be testing the market come November 1st.
Wilton is one of few players the entire Sharks' collective fan base can agree upon is a must to retain in the Shire.
Later in the week I'll run down why the Sharks can't afford to lose the left sided backrower.
Today though we're going to look at six potential landing spots should be decide his future lays elsewhere and he does decide to leave the Sharks.
2. Melbourne Storm
I hope we see Eliesa Katoa back in the NRL next season. So much!
If he is forced into early retirement, Teig Wilton is as easy a plug and play replacement as Craig Bellamy could ever ask for.
Wilton is on the fringe of NSW selection. Under Bellamy, that could absolutely push him over the edge into a sky blue jumper.
It's funny how often players who aren't looking to shift voluntarily move to Victoria once they hear the Storm are interested!
Cameron Munster is constantly linked with an exit from the club meaning the money will be there. Even if Munster doesn't move on, again it's funny how often players accept "unders" to play in purple.
The thought of Wilton playing under Bellamy is frigthning. Especially now that Bellamy looks set to remain at the Storm for years to come.
