A shockwave went through the Shire this week on the back of reports that Teig Wilton would be testing the market come November 1st.
Wilton is one of few players the entire Sharks' collective fan base can agree upon is a must to retain in the Shire.
Later in the week I'll run down why the Sharks can't afford to lose the left sided backrower.
Today though we're going to look at six potential landing spots should be decide his future lays elsewhere and he does decide to leave the Sharks.
3. Wests Tigers
Being brutally honest here, the Wests Tigers need a signing to get their fans excited.
Wilton doesn't carry the name and profile to fill that need but he absolutely carries the ability and experience.
Again, being brutally honest, the Tigers need the likes of Teig Wilton rather than the previous Jarome Luai type signings.
Wilton is no nonsense, adds to the culture and would instantly improve the Tigers forward pack.
I have doubts whether he'd be willing to shift from a perennial Finals team to a struggling club, but the fact he's willing to test his worth shows money is a factor.
A potential Kai Pearce-Paul/Teig Wilton back row is a very exciting prospect. Throw in the Fainu brothers, Alex Twal and Terrell May and you're cooking!
Tigers fans have had it rough for a long time now and Wilton's signing wouldn't turn it all around but it would give them a fringe Origin quality player to look forward to seeing in orange and black.
