A shockwave went through the Shire this week on the back of reports that Teig Wilton would be testing the market come November 1st.
Wilton is one of few players the entire Sharks' collective fan base can agree upon is a must to retain in the Shire.
Later in the week I'll run down why the Sharks can't afford to lose the left sided backrower.
Today though we're going to look at six potential landing spots should be decide his future lays elsewhere and he does decide to leave the Sharks.
1. Gold Coast Titans
Josh Hannay knows Teig Wilton well. Well enough to get him to move to the Gold Coast though?
The Titans are another side who need to make a splash in bringing some serious talent to the club.
They've locked in their spine and have Beau Fermor and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui on the books. Adding Teig Wilton would be very, very nice.
With AJ Brimson looking like he'll exit, it frees up the better part of a million dollars.
That should be invested in a player of Wilton's importance, age and ability.
You better believe Hannay will be sending a "How you been mate?" text to Wilton on November 1st.
