South Sydney superstar Latrell Mitchell's name has been added to the list of names ready to test the market come November 1st.
Reports have indicated Souths are willing to take a "wait and see" plan of action with their star attraction.
I believe they expect Latrell to re-sign with the club regardless of who he speaks to.
We've seen stranger moves in rugby league though recently. No one expected Payne Haas to leave the Broncos, ironically for the Bunnies of South Sydney.
The two new clubs have sent shockwaves through the NRL player market to the point players would be doing themselves a huge disservice to not test the waters.
Obviously Latrell Mitchell would be in hot demand and has already been linked with multiple clubs.
Here are six potential landing destinations for Latrell Mitchell should he choose to look elsewhere:
5. Gold Coast Titans
The Titans are the first entry here who can afford to take a big risk here.
Latrell Mitchell's injury history is well documented and I don't believe Souths are getting value for his monster contract.
If he plays 15 games for the Titans, he is absolutely worth a million dollars.
The clubs positions are so different. Souths are build around Mitchell with a title in mind. The Titans would make a monster splash with the signing, even if he is only available for 60% of the season.
Jayden Campbell and Keano Kini are tied down long-term. The future is exciting on the holiday strip. Adding Latrell Mitchell would be a huge win.
Not only is he a brilliant player but his name value would be well worth any investment the Titans were to make.
Trell's days as fullback are done but him running off Jayden Campbell would certainly plenty of fans. Would certainly bring some undecided fans through the gates.
I'm not sure where Latrell's head is at in terms of Premiership chasing, money etc but the Titans can certainly offer a far more relaxed lifestyle than he currently enjoys.
