Cronulla have confirmed their interim coach for the 219 NRL season, with John Morris elevated to Head Coach.

Jim Dymock will remain as the club's assistant coach, despite recent reports suggesting the pair would share the position.

Morris was named the 2017 NYC Coach of the Year, and also played 105 games for the Sharks between 2010-2014.

Cronulla's CEO Barry Russell had the following to say on Morris' appointment.

"The Club is delighted to be able to give John the opportunity to step up into the Interim Head Coach role and has full confidence in his ability to lead our Football program into the 2019 season," Russell told sharks.com.au.

  1. Yeah I’d appoint a complete neville that hasn’t done squat as a first grade coach. Hell Barrett would have been a better choice.

  2. Shane Flanagan certainly didn’t learn from the 1st suspension. Nice to see John Morris given a go – he has a good footy brain and i hope he has some personal success.

  3. Jim Dymock has been the perennial loser all of his coaching career
last choice at every club he has been to.
He is just not up to it.

  4. Dymock: Alays a bridesmaid but never a bride

he moved from the dogs because Pay got the top job – He should look at Super League if he really wants to be a head coach – but bloke cant string 2 sentences together
