The New Zealand Warriors have entered the race for Bronco David Fifita with a huge $1 million-a-season play, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The deal would give Fifita the richest contract in the Warriors history.

And Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has gone so far to say that the potential addition of the rising star could push them into premiership contention.

โ€œWeโ€™re very close to being a (premiership) contender, but Fifita is one of those players that can take you that extra step and fill the ultimate package for a club," he toldย The Daily Telegraph.

โ€œHeโ€™s a perfect fit for every club. Heโ€™s got the speed, heโ€™s got the power.

โ€œHeโ€™s a prop, too, but heโ€™s got skill. Heโ€™d be a massive win for us if weโ€™re able to land him.

โ€œBut if we do or if we donโ€™t, youโ€™ve just got to go with what weโ€™ve got here and Iโ€™m confident we can do something special in the 2020 season.โ€™โ€™

Currently tied up in New Zealand's Test campaign, Tuivasa-Sheck hasn't had the chance to personally reach out to Fifita.

โ€œI donโ€™t know him personally, but I would love to try and give him a chat,โ€™โ€™ he said.

โ€œIโ€™ve seen the media and I got excited myself.

โ€œI asked the coaches, how is this guy going? And he said, you know thereโ€™s a process, you canโ€™t just go and talk to him until November 1.

โ€œYouโ€™ve just got to let it play it out and play to the rules.โ€™โ€™

The Warriors skipper was excited about the addition of Penrith's Wayde Egan, who unlike Fifita at this stage, is a lock to join the Warriors.

โ€œIโ€™ve heard big raps about him as a hooker, so getting someone like that is always special,โ€™โ€™ Tuivasa-Sheck said.

โ€œIโ€™m looking forward to getting into some work with Wayde and seeing what we can produce.

โ€œWe started last year working out who our key middles are and thatโ€™s really important, finding our alpha-male and someone who is going to lead the pack.โ€™โ€™

  1. If the Warriors can entice the young champion prop, then depending on the length of his contract. He will never experince the thrill winning a premiership.
    Tell him that please Roger.

  2. Parramatta will make an $11 million dollar offer to Latrell Mitchell, for 10 years. He’ll take it & run!
Your Hudson may have a ‘H’ , but your ‘thrill’ requires an ‘of’ after it Cro-Magnon scribbler.
