The New Zealand Warriors have entered the race for Bronco David Fifita with a huge $1 million-a-season play, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The deal would give Fifita the richest contract in the Warriors history.
And Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has gone so far to say that the potential addition of the rising star could push them into premiership contention.
โWeโre very close to being a (premiership) contender, but Fifita is one of those players that can take you that extra step and fill the ultimate package for a club," he toldย The Daily Telegraph.
โHeโs a perfect fit for every club. Heโs got the speed, heโs got the power.
โHeโs a prop, too, but heโs got skill. Heโd be a massive win for us if weโre able to land him.
โBut if we do or if we donโt, youโve just got to go with what weโve got here and Iโm confident we can do something special in the 2020 season.โโ
Currently tied up in New Zealand's Test campaign, Tuivasa-Sheck hasn't had the chance to personally reach out to Fifita.
โI donโt know him personally, but I would love to try and give him a chat,โโ he said.
โIโve seen the media and I got excited myself.
โI asked the coaches, how is this guy going? And he said, you know thereโs a process, you canโt just go and talk to him until November 1.
โYouโve just got to let it play it out and play to the rules.โโ
The Warriors skipper was excited about the addition of Penrith's Wayde Egan, who unlike Fifita at this stage, is a lock to join the Warriors.
โIโve heard big raps about him as a hooker, so getting someone like that is always special,โโ Tuivasa-Sheck said.
โIโm looking forward to getting into some work with Wayde and seeing what we can produce.
โWe started last year working out who our key middles are and thatโs really important, finding our alpha-male and someone who is going to lead the pack.โโ
If the Warriors can entice the young champion prop, then depending on the length of his contract. He will never experince the thrill winning a premiership.
Tell him that please Roger.
NRL clubs, dont waster your time….the Roosters will get him and for less than $1m
Fifita is not worth 1mil a season yet, heโs worth $600-$700k at the most.
Parramatta will make an $11 million dollar offer to Latrell Mitchell, for 10 years. He’ll take it & run!
Your Hudson may have a ‘H’ , but your ‘thrill’ requires an ‘of’ after it Cro-Magnon scribbler.
