Axed Newcastle centre Jesse Ramien has broken his silence over the Knights' decision to stand him down mid-season.

After the Knights' round 18 loss to the Roosters, Ramien was told to find another club, as the 22-year-old has been sat on the sidelines since.

Ramien had been quiet on Newcastle's decision, but appeared on NITV's show Over The Black Dot, where he spoke out about the incident for the first time.

Ramien said he has no issues with anyone at the Knights, suggesting the two parties just didn't work out together.

“At the end of the day it didn’t work out," Ramien said.

“Their style of play and my style of play didn’t click as much as we would have liked it to.

“It’s a great club, not a bad thing to say about the club and I got on great with all the boys there.

“These things happen in footy I guess and it’s time to move on.

“I really enjoyed my time there. When I left the bush I pretty much grew up in Newy.”

Ramien has been linked to several different clubs ahead of 2020, with the Cowboys the latest to attach their name to the outside back.

Ramien didn't dive too deep into where he could be playing next season, although he does want a club that suits his style of play.

“It’s going to be pretty tough, my next decision. It’s a big one, I’m at an important part of my career,” he added.

“I’m just looking for somewhere I can do what I do best. I like to get the ball early, somewhere that has halves who like to do that.

“I think there’s a few teams out there that play that style of footy and that’s something I can see myself being a part of.

“It’s always a confidence builder when clubs are wanting you. I probably haven’t had the best year, but to feel wanted is definitely a confidence booster.”

  1. Would be a solid pick up for the red v but dragons footy under Mary wouldn’t be his cup of tea unfortunately. Guess we’re stuck with Mary jnr and Lafai

That’s a fair slap in the face for Mitch Pearce, who was instrumental in getting rid of Ramien .
