In the lead up to his first finals campaign since 2016, veteran centre Josh Morris is in a good mood and says he'll consider extending his contract despite rumours linking him elsewhere.
"I'm not on as much coin as I used to be!" he laughed.
"There's not much point moving me, I wouldn't free up too much space. It is what it is, it's all part of the game but being older helps you put it on the back burner and I haven't let it affect me at all."
When he heard the rumours Morris says he immediately range up his manager, David Riolo, and received assurances that the club was happy and wasn't looking to get rid of him.
"They're just rumours. I've had all my mates texting me 'am I going here, am I going there' but I haven't heard anything from the club or from my manager," he added.
"I'm happy here, I feel like I'm playing some of my best footy and I'm looking forward to playing finals - that's what I came here to do."
He says if he still feels his good about it next year he would be up for extending his contract beyond 2020.
"You never say never. If I'm playing this well this time next year I'd certainly consider it. If I'm playing well and my body still feels good I'd be crazy not to think about playing on," he said.
"[Coming here] is probably the best thing I've done; I feel refreshed, re-energised and feel like I'm playing some of my best footy as well."
"I've lived in the area the last 10 years and have a young family now so it fits in perfectly. I get to spend a bit more time at home with the family as well which has been good."
The 33-year old known for his speed hasn't lost it yet, having no problem catching Jarrod Croker in the Sharks' one-point loss to the Raiders in Round 24.
"I've been telling the young fellas 'where were they' and getting into them!" Morris laughed.
"I guess it's about setting that example, if I can do it being the oldest back in the side then the young fellas can follow."
On Saturday the Sharks return to Lottoland for the elimination final against Manly and, despite failing to win a game there since 2008, Morris says the Sharks aren't worried.
"We spoke about it briefly this morning, there's probably most of the squad that hasn't played there in a Sharks jersey so we're not worried about it at all," said Morris.
"From our perspective we're 0-0 there so it's about getting the win and getting the job done."
Morris expects Manly to put up a fight even with stars Tom Trbojevic, Martin Taupau, Curtis Sironen and Joel Thompson absent.
He spoke about his former Bulldogs mentor Des Hasler and the preparation they will have done in the lead up.
"They've got injuries, they're down on troops but he'll have them prepared very thorough throughout the week to squeeze every ounce of talent they've got out of their 21 in their squad. He'll want to ambush us. They'll be ready to go," Morris said.
"He thrives on the backs against the wall stuff, he'll have them prepared throughout this week.
"He'll be studying a fair bit of video, his video sessions are pretty intense and detailed so they would have done a fair bit of work on us.
"He gives those inspirational speeches throughout the week – sometimes the boys felt like playing on captain's run after the final speech but he'll have them ready to go."

I think Brett Morris offers good but different attributes than Ferguson. Morris knows the way to a try line. I think he has scored 150, Ferguson can be like an extra forward.
