The Sydney Roosters will be hoping for no injuries to their State of Origin stars tonight with reports that hooker Jake Friend will be sidelined for a number of weeks after breaking his hand at training.

Channel 9 journalist Tony Adams (aka The Mole) broke the news on Twitter last night.

The club has yet to confirm the details but the injury is expected to see Friend spend approximately four weeks on the sidelines as he recovers.

Already without fullback Michael Gordon for the next eight weeks and with star forward Boyd Cordner nursing injuries, the loss of Friend will be another blow to the club's hopes of a Top 4 finish.

The Roosters have the bye this week, with their next match against the Newcastle Knights in Round 20 at Allianz Stadium.
