The Canberra Raiders have confirmed three re-signings, with Jed Stuart, Malachi Smith and Mark Tuialii all committing their futures to the club.
Stuart is the most experienced of the trio, and had an option in his contract that would have made him a Raider in 2027 had the club taken it.
They have instead extended him out to the end of 2029, with the outside back who has been on the fringe of the first-grade side since debuting in the middle of 2015 locked in at the Raiders for the next three years.
Stuart has played 28 games for the Raiders since debuting, and will likely continue to add to that tally next year, particularly if Sebastian Kris leaves for the Gold Coast Titans, as reports have suggested may happen.
Stuart, who has 11 first-grade tries, said he was thrilled with his new deal.
“I'm so stoked. Growing up in Canberra, this was the club I grew up watching, so it's so special to stay here for three more years,” Stuart said.
“There's obviously a lot of work in front of us but the young talent we have here is exciting.”
Smith is the other player of the trio who has debuted in the top grade, doing that in the final round of 2026 against the North Queensland Cowboys and has now extended his deal to the end of 2028.
A talented young dummy half, Smith is seen as a big part of the club's future and could form a one-two punch with Owen Pattie in 2027 if Tom Starling exits the club.
The veteran has been linked to the Manly Sea Eagles, who are looking for more depth at number nine.
“I'm pretty stoked. This year has all been a surprise with debuting, and I'm extremely honoured to stay at this club,” Smith said.
“I've got so much trust in the coaching staff and the players around me which has paid dividends. Ricky values hard work, which means a lot to me.”
Tuialii is yet to debut, but will likely do so next year.
A young outside back who will move up the pecking order with his new contract and Kris' potential departure, Tuialii won the NSW Cup coaches award this year and is also locked in through to the end of 2028 alongside Smith.
“I'm really happy to re-sign. The Raiders have helped me on and off the field and have become a family to me,” Tuialii said.
“I've been working really hard on my game. Simi (Sasagi) and Mokes (Matt Timoko) have been giving me some tips here and there, and it would mean so much to make my debut in the future.”
