Queensland fullback Billy Slater has sent a scare through Maroons camp, with the superstar injuring his ankle just days out from the Origin decider.

Slater fell to the ground late in the session, clutching at his right ankle. He was prone for two minutes or so with Maroons medical staff attending to him. Slater got to his feet and walked

Slater was assisted from the field, walking with a definitive limp.

Medical staff strapped the ankle on the sidelines before Slater was then whisked away to the hotel for further treatment.

The severity of the injury is unknown although Slater's teammates seemed unconcerned with Jarrod Wallace suggesting he'd just rolled the ankle.
