Legendary Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has shut down a report linking him to a move to the Eels in time for the 2019 season.
Despite currently being contracted until the end of the 2019 season at the Broncos, Bennett's future is up in the air after recent reports suggested the Broncos were chasing Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy to not only succeed Bennett, but take over next season and cut his contract short.
Channel 9 reported on Thursday night that the Eels were getting ready to approach Bennett and try to entice him into moving to Parramatta to coach the club next season.
Parramatta are currently rooted to the bottom of the table, with a 3-12 record through 15 games.
Bennett was asked about Parramatta's approach at his press conference on Friday, but told the media he "would not be open" to an approach from the Eels.
Bennett has continuously stated his commitment to the Broncos for the 2019 season, ever since the Bellamy reports surfaced.
