The Dally M awards might not go ahead this year but that hasn't stopped us from naming our Team of the Year!

We've polled the fans, crunched the numbers and then ignored it all to name the best players in each position for the 2017 season.

Who makes the side and who wins the Dally M Medal in 2017?

The majority of the feedback was that I should have included Jordan Rapana in this poll over Daniel Tupou, but truth be told I was of the opinion that the Fijian try-scoring freak would walk this poll in regardless of his opposition. His second season in the top grade will see him top the try scoring charts for a second straight season. An incredible 22 tries and 20 line breaks confirm his status as the most dangerous winger in the game. He is the complete winger. He can literally do it all. I love watching this incredible flyer ply his trade, as long as he's not running in four pointers against my side.

Fellow Fijian Semi Radradra finished the season like a house on fire and joins his fellow countryman in rounding out the game's top two wingers. There is no coincidence that the Eels great run of form coincides with Radradra's incredible try scoring run. It's an absolute shame he will waste away in French Rugby next season. Here's hoping a return to the greatest game of all is not too far away.
