Cronulla halfback Kyle Flanagan is set to move to Bondi next season, after reportedly signing a deal to join the Roosters in 2020.

According to 7news.com.au, a deal couldn't be done before the June 30 deadline given the Sharks weren't willing to part with him just yet, although the 20-year-old will be representing the Tricolours next season.

Flanagan is the son of former Sharks coach Shane, with the playmaker handed his debut in 2018 under his father, before going on to play seven NRL games for the Shire club.

The length of Flanagan's Roosters contract is still unclear.

  1. Poach- take or acquire in an unfair or clandestine way (or cook by simmering in a small amount of liquid)

    Classic poaching by definition

  2. They are obviously resorting to ordinary talent in an effort to keep Latrelle.
Not like the roosters to buy unknown halves.
Their history is poaching the best

  3. Very unusual for LE COQS not to poach a ready made half like they did with Fittler, Keary, Cronk to name just a few.

  4. Do you really want a banned dishonest, salary cap cheating, illegal drug cheating liar as your coach ?

Sorry but young Flannagan’s father should never be allowed to have anything to do with RL ever again.

  5. Mitchell never actually said he will stay loyal , he said that he will leave it to his manager, enough said

  6. Man your sounding more like Woody as time goes by, could it be that Woody is making a comeback in your mind after you banished him Russ? You obviously won the battle to keep him silent, but he appears to be making a comeback, so where do you go from here Russ?

  7. Le Coqs are cracking.
Keary gone, Cronk over it, Crouton an overpaid failure, Radley no more than a luggage carrier for Cameron Murray during origin, Friend a Cook wannabe, Latrell wants out, what a mess.

  8. They’re lining up to take the brown paper bags from the French Dressed Chickens, doubtful back room duo.
How do you even fit in all the halves there into a 30 man squad ?
Keary, Cronk, Lamb, Lam, Hitchison. Add in Flannagan next year & Walker in two years time. It just doesn’t fit. Even without Cronk next year.
Is it a clever ploy to buy every half that becomes available ? Soon there’ll be a 30 man squad of halves there.
What’s a 30 man squad squawk the Chickens? What’s this thing called a salary cap? Not for us!

  9. Viva La France Le Coq have had the dream draw throughout origin everyone can see through some very insider help I would suggest to cotton wool them through it.
Happens every year to secure a top 4 spot.
They can run but they cant hide.
Look forward to what’s installed for them once origin is over and no more freebies.
