The player exodus from the Penrith Panthers looks set to continue, with Tyrone Peachey agreeing to a join the Gold Coast Titans.

The three-year deal, starting in 2019, is reportedly worth $1.5 million and will be announced by the Titans in the next few days.

The signing of Peachey will add wonders to the Gold Coast club in 2019, with his versatility a real plus. Peachey has played a number of positions at NRL level, including centre, second row, lock, five-eighth and hooker.

New Titans coach Garth Brennan has been using his connections with the Panthers, with the former Penrith assistant coach enticing a number of players to follow him north.

  1. Gus Goulds plan is what’s going on at Penrith.
Goes to show that Brennan is highly respected as a coach.
I hope he has a lot of success with the Titans because imo the Nrl need a competitive team on the Gold Coast

  2. As a big Panthers fan….. I can’t stand to keep seeing this ay!

Wasn’t upset when Moylan left (F*#k him)
But Rein, Latu, Cartwright and now PEACHEY!!!!!

Honestly what does the club expect it’s fans to do???? Surely we can’t keep watching our star players walk away from the club…. we’ve been too patient for too long it’s time the club gives back to its fans and show us abit more clarity!!!!!

    • Rumour has it that Bryce Cartwright was receiving death threats, and these death threats was extended to his partner, and his son, if that was true, he had to leave.

    • I dont mind losing those guys cause half of them wouldnt have made our first grade squad most of the time anyway…. but if its true that they are trying to free up the salary cap for cleary, then they damn well better keep him…. if he leaves the fans will really get angry

      • Mate….. Peachey is always in the team as is Cartwright and Latu!!! As for Rein he would’ve surely been our starting hooker once Wallace retires so I don’t understand how u can say they wouldn’t have made the 1st grade squad!!
Stop being in denial…… the club needs to pull there finger out and find the source of the problem, wether its the coach or something else.
Enough is enough… we finally have a team that’s capable of going deep into the finals and all we are seeming to do is letting all our main stars walk

        • peachy shld have been on the bench, have whare and blake as centers… latu was a good forward but we we have heaps of depth in the forwards. Cartwright was out of form and lousy in defense. rein wouldn’t have made the top 17, and last year the coach already showed that they would rather use Sione Katoa at 9 and on the bench.
so all in all, we lost a bench utility, bench forward, back up hooker and out of form, out of favor 2nd rower.. …..

        • Peachey is a big loss, Latu is a loss too. The others not so much. Moylen comes across as a spoilt brat, and Cleary played better footy without Moylen in the team. Cartwright had to get out of the area, plus he is a liability in defence and hasn’t learned when to offload and when to hold on to the ball. Rein showed promise a few years ago and shone in reserve grade, but was on too much cash to be a constant reserve grader, and didn’t really take the opportunities he did have at Penrith in 1st grade.

  3. Where will he go though the titans have so many backs that it is hard to predict where he’ll line up next year in the titans squad

    • he’ll play as a roaming 5/8. hard to beleive but i heard this is where brennan wants him with Ash taylor to run the show

    • Brennan wants Cartwright at Lock and Peats and Taylor are lock ins at 9 and 7. I hope they give I guess he’s either in the centres which would be good or off the bench as a ultity.

  4. Penrith has been bringing through top juniors for years and always seem to lose half I pray to god you guys keep Nathan because we lost a half called Ashley and it killed me to see him go and we really needed him for this year but I hate seeing this

  5. Really….Why is anyone here shocked?
Phil Gould was on the radio weeks ago , more or less saying Peachey would leave after this season . As Penrith would not match the Gold Coast offer. It’s not even a story.
As for the the best hooker there? It would have been an idea to keep Rein. Although Wade Egan is the best hooker at the club by far. Showed it in the lower grades last year & in the trial against the Roosters again. Will be one of the best hookers around & maybe the Panthers won’t release him.
