Star Raiders centre Joseph Leilua could miss the rest of the home-and-away season after he was cited for dropping knees in Sunday's loss to Manly.

The 27-year-old can accept a two-match sanction if he submits an early guilty plea, but can challenge the decision without the risk of adding to the suspension.

The ban looms as a major blow for the third-placed Raiders, who are currently locked in a tight battle with the Sea Eagles, Rabbitohs and Eels for the final two top four positions.

The Raiders will travel to PointsBet Stadium to take on the seventh-placed Sharks on Sunday.

  1. Never mind the dropped knees, lets talk about that real dirty player Cam Smith for pulling the jersey over the ears. Cannot believe that is getting swept under the carpet so quickly. He should have got 5 weeks for that. Storm always play “not in the spirit of the game”. No need to even touch the poor bloke’s jersey.

  2. Who sounds nuts now Rucky?
Leilua cost Canberra the game, with the knees. Second time he’d put in the knees in the game.
If not for that extra 2 points , Canberra would have been able to tie up the scores a few times late in the game. As they’d have been 2 points behind & not 4 , when they received a few penalties.
What a dope for dropping the knees in.

  3. So TPJ gets 5 weeks for an accidental crusher?
but Brown gets 2 weeks for a deliberate shoulder charge?
and Grubby Leilua gets a possible 2 weeks for a deliberate attack to the spine of Garrick?
The NRL judiciary is a joke?
