The young centre made his debut against South Sydney off the bench midway through last season, before scoring his maiden try against Cronulla in his only start of the year.

Jarrod Croker will miss the first month of the season following a shoulder reconstruction and Nick Cotric has departed for Canterbury, leaving Smith-Shields to battle it out with fellow rookie Matt Timoko for the vacant spot. Harley should get the gig, and excel in it.
