Tallis Duncan is preparing to sign a three-year contract extension with the South Sydney Rabbitohs until the end of the 2030 season.
Clubs have been waiting to see if Duncan would sign an extension to stay at the Rabbitohs.
The Rabbitohs paused contract negotiations at the halfway mark of the season for every player except the 24-year-old named after Gorden Tallis.
Duncan has made it clear he only sees himself wearing the Rabbitohs colours and can't imagine leaving.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Duncan, due to his form and his performance for the Rabbitohs, will receive a three-year deal.
“I want to be here, this is where I want to be – I see myself as a South Sydney player for a long time,” Duncan said.
Duncan, who can also play centres, revealed one club he wouldn't sign with and teased that something had happened behind the scenes.
"I was a Roosters junior, but [a return to the Roosters] won't be happening," he said.
"There's some history there. I won't say too much about it, but that won't happen."
Latrell Mitchell, who is also a free agent on November 1, has been confirmed to return to play against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday afternoon.
The 29-year-old has been named in the reserves, and Duncan spoke highly of Mitchell's return and what he'll bring leading into the finals.
"It's massive for us as a club," Duncan said.
"You know what he brings: his presence, he brings confidence [to the rest of us]. He's the ace up our sleeve."
The Rabbitohs worked with the NRL to grant an exemption for Jai Arrow to get credited with two additional games to achieve a milestone of playing 100 games with the club.
Arrow has been named in the starting lineup and is expected to take the field in the opening seconds before a player replaces him.
The 31-year-old will then sit on the interchange bench for the rest of the game.
A win against the Titans will lock their place in the finals, as they hope to return for the first time since the 2022 season.
