Melbourne Storm youngster Brandon Smith has suffered a wrist injury that will see him miss the next 8-10 weeks.

The 21-year-old rookie damaged the scaphoid bone and will undergo surgery today.

Smith, who has played three games this season, is expected to make a return in late August-early September.

The Club is hopeful the promising hooker will be available for selection should Storm and feeder side Sunshine Coast Falcons be alive in their respective Finals campaigns.
