The Melbourne Storm has announced the signing of New Zealand Warriors centre Adam Pompey to make the switch to Victoria on a two-year deal.
Pompey burst onto the scene for an NRL debut with the Warriors in 2019, before becoming a staple of the club's outside back options over the next seven seasons, amounting to 136 NRL games
His strongest season was in 2023 when Pompey was first-choice centre in the Warriors' campaign. He kicked 20 conversions and scored five tries in 27 appearances in a highlight year.
Pompey was the only Warriors player to feature in all games for the club in their push to the preliminary final that year.
Over his career, he has totalled 39 tries and 66 goals throughout his time in Auckland.
Pompey started his NRL journey in the Sydney Roosters system in 2017 and 2018 before the Warriors picked him up.
Storm head of football Frank Ponissi said Pompey is a valuable player with multiple strengths and is excited for him to join the club.
“We're excited to welcome Adam and his wife Casey to Melbourne ahead of the 2027 season,” Ponissi said in a Storm statement.
“Adam is an experienced player who has shown his value at the Warriors, bringing significant first-grade expertise while also proving himself as a valuable points scorer.
“We look forward to having Adam join us for pre-season training and seeing him contribute to our playing squad, both on and off the field. We also thank the Warriors for allowing Adam to join the club for the 2027 season.”
Pompey will begin his time at the Storm when pre-season training kicks off in November.
