1. Kalyn Ponga (Fullback) 8.5/10

Two try assists, three goals and 154 run metres in his first starting gig as the fullback for the Maroons.

  1. Corey Oates (Wing) 7.5/10

Scored an athletic try and almost had a double. Ran for 137 run metres and broke seven tackles.

  1. Michael Morgan (Centre) 6/10

Was threatening on the edge but had a few defensive misreads in an unfamiliar position.

  1. Will Chambers (Centre) 7/10

Rocks and diamonds – as he’s known for – Finished the contest with 118 run metres and a line break.

  1. Dane Gagai (Wing) 9/10

Saves his three best games a year for the Maroons and he didn’t disappoint. Scored a double and ran for a whopping 270 run metres, including a 90-metre effort in the second half.

  1. Cameron Munster (Five-Eighth) 8/10

Had a few early lapses in defence but made up for it with a strong running and kicking game. Ran for 145 run metres and broke seven tackles.

  1. Daly Cherry-Evans (Halfback) 7.5/10

A solid outing in his first appearance as skipper. Kicking game was on point and organised his troops, was robbed of a try assist with a clever kick that would have landed on Matt Gillett’s chest.

  1. Jai Arrow (Prop) 7/10

Another workhorse performance from the Gold Coast lock forward.

  1. Ben Hunt (Hooker) 7.5/10

His passing game from hooker may still need a little work but he was still as influential as ever from dummy-half. Finished the game with 53 tackles.

  1. Josh Papalii (Prop) 7.5/10

One of the best forwards on the park and even found himself on the edge at times. Finished the game with 135 run metres and 27 tackles.

  1. Felise Kaufusi (Second Row) 8/10

Continues to impress in the representative arena. Was dangerous every time he carried the football and stung in defence.

  1. Matt Gillett (Second Row) 6.5/10

Didn’t look out of place in his first game wearing the Maroon since the 2017 series.

  1. Josh McGuire (Lock) 7/10

Ran for 107 metres and completed 44 tackles in a solid knock. Now the most senior forward in the Maroons pack.

  1. Moses Mbye (Interchange) 2/10

Didn’t get much time to shine (8 minutes).

  1. Joe Ofahengaue (Interchange) 6/10

Didn’t look out of place but his defence was a little shaky. Finished his 33-minute stint with 133 run metres but his tackle efficiency languished at around 75 percent.

  1. Dylan Napa (Interchange) 5/10

Made an impact as soon as he hit the paddock. Went into his shell after bombing a certain try however.

  1. David Fifita (Interchange) 5.5/10

Showed he belonged in an impressive stint.
