Queensland Origin coach Kevin Walters has ruled Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith out of this year's Origin series.
Claims for Cronk and Smith to return to the Maroons set-up were raised over the weekend, after injuries to Jake Friend and Daly Cherry-Evans.
Both of the former Storm teammates had previously retired from State of Origin.
Speaking on Fox's NRL 360 program, Walters was adamant that it was time to move on.
“We’re not going to go back down that path. Those boys have made it clear, it’s someone else’s turn to wear the Maroons jumper,” he said.
"Those boys have been very clear on where they stand.
"We have to respect that. All these guys here moved on at some stage in their Origin career.
"Now it's up to the next generation to make the jersey their own."
