The Cronulla Sharks have released halfback Trent Hodkinson, effective immediately, to take up a multi-year offer at another NRL club.
Hodkinson joined the Sharks in 2018 after being released by the Newcastle Knights at the beginning of the year.
"It was part of an agreement we had with Trent, as we weren't in a position to extend his contract beyond 2018, if he could find a multi-year offer somewhere else we wouldn't stand in his way," Sharks head coach Shane Flanagan said on the club website.
"He has been very good around our club, we thank him for the games he has played and wish him well in his future endeavours."
Hodkinson played four games for the Sharks in his brief stint with the club.
It's expected the Manly Sea Eagles will officially announce his signing tomorrow, allowing him to play for the club this weekend against the Melbourne Storm.
