Dugan, a former Kangaroos and NSW representative, has reportedly been advised to pursue other options.
Dugan still has two years remaining on his contract, but with Raimen’s imminent arrival, the club will have fourth starting-calibre centres on their list – Josh Morris, Bronson Xerri, Dugan and Raimen.
The Sharks will have a large chunk of the salary devoted to the centre position, with Raimen’s contract reportedly worth $2 million over four years.
Given the limited opportunities elsewhere in the lineup, Dugan is likely to be pushed out.
Josh Morris has been linked with a move away from Sutherland Shire, but Dugan is expected to be the first casualty.
The 29-year-old arrived at Cronulla at the end of 2017 after moving from St George Illawarra following a strong season.
The Sharks are still waiting on the NRL to clear Raimen’s contract, but despite Cronulla’s salary cap restrictions, the club are expected to be under the cap for the next two seasons.
