Across 26 gruelling rounds, some of the game's brightest talents have taken to the field of play. For some, it's a chance to push for a first-grade debut and become a permanent feature in years to come.

After one of the most competitive seasons in NSW Cup history, we at The League Scene have decided to list seven of the most exciting prospects yet to make their NRL debut that could make their way into the top flight next season.

6. Zakauri Clarke - Penrith Panthers

The younger brother of Storm sensation Cooper Clarke. Zakauri has had to embark on a different road on his rugby league journey to date.

After emerging in an impressive Wests Tigers nursery a couple of seasons ago, Clarke made the jump to Penrith in 2025, where he was a key part of the Jersey Flegg squad that reached the Grand Final. Penrith quickly saw his potential and extended him into the club's top 30 until the end of the 2028 season.

In 2026, the talented backrower has made one impressive leap and nearly featured in the NRL in Round 18 where he was an unused reserve. That being said, Clarke hasn't let that disappointment get him down, scoring 220 points this season as one of the rare goalkicking forwards.

The 22-year-old was ultra-consistent this season for a Panthers squad that won the premiership. He averaged just under 100 metres a game whilst making an impressive 90% of his tackles and having 23 offloads on the year. With some experienced forwards departing the club, 2027 is poised to open up a potential debut at some stage for the talented forward.
