Brisbane Broncos forward Sam Thaiday has taken to social media upset over his axing from the Queensland and Australian rep sides.

The veteran forward posted a lengthy rant on Instagram, unhappy that he wasn't shown more respect after ten years wearing both the Queensland maroon and green and gold for Australia.

It was revealed earlier in the day that Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga had made just one phone call to an omitted player: Roosters outside back Blake Ferguson.

Meninga said Ferguson was disappointed but was told the decision had been made purely on form.

"The only player I rang was Blake Ferguson,” Meninga said. "He was upset. He wasn't in the best of form."

It seems Thaiday felt like he deserved the same.

"A bit of respect would've been nice," Thaiday stated in the social media post.

"To at least receive a phone call and learn about selection that way instead, of through a leaked report from the media on last night's news.

"After dedicating more than 10 years wearing the Maroon and Green and Gold jersey, you'd expect to be treated with a bit more decency and respect. I guess not."
