Daniel Tupou's season could be over with the Sydney Roosters winger suffering a groin injury in the Round 22 loss to the Manly Sea Eagles.

Tupou was forced from the field in the 65th minute of the game after sustaining a groin injury.

After receiving scans this afternoon, the club has confirmed that it is a right groin tear that will require Tupou to undergo an intensive rehab program.

Tupou is expected to be unavailable for up to six weeks while he recovers.

Sio Siua Taukeiaho was also taken from the field after just 14 minutes of play in the same match and was thought to have sustained a compound fracture of the finger.

In better news for the club, the injury is not as bad as originally thought and Taukeiaho's finger was just dislocated.

Taukeiaho will be available for selection this weekend against the Melbourne Storm.
