The Newcastle Knights and Parramatta Eels are pursuing off-contract Warriors hooker Issac Luke, according to a report by the NZ Herald.

The Warriors have reportedly put all talks with Luke off until the end of their finals campaign, but the 31-year old is reportedly keen to remain at the club.

The Eels are looking to rebuild after their disappointing slide this season and Newcastle are courting replacements for the injured Slade Griffin.

Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga remains undecided on his playing future too as several clubs circle the impending free agent.

"There's been some negotiations going on with a few guys and younger blokes as well but we've just put everybody on hold just while we're in the playoffs," Warriors general manager of football Brian Smith told the NZ Herald.

"Obviously we don't want anyone distracted so we're not going anywhere near player managers at the moment. When we're done, it's not that far off one way or the other, it's only going to be a month even if we get all the way through. So we're just going to do it that way this time and they're all cool with that."

Luke's manager Bruce Sharrock anticipated plenty of player movement in the distant future.

"There will be a domino effect occurring at some point in the not too distant future which will see a number of players moving clubs," Sharrock said.

"There's going to be movement and clearly clubs are keeping whatever war chest they have available for whatever may or may not come on the market.

"Until that starts it's very hard to complete anything."
