The Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs are set for a historic opening round clash at the SCG next year.

It will be the first time the bitter rivals have met at the SCG in the opening round for 92 years, with the showdown entrenched in decades of rancorous history and loathing between the sides.

The grudge match will also see former Souths star forward Angus Crichton playing his first game for the Roosters, with tensions sure to be high all match.

The Roosters and the Rabbitohs have the fiercest rivalry in NRL history, extending back to the foundation of both clubs in 1908 when the New South Wales Rugby League began.

The full Round 1 fixture can be found below, as revealed by The Daily Telegraph. The full season draw is to set to be announced this Thursday.
