Axed Newcastle centre Jesse Ramien is set to return to the Cronulla Sharks on a four-year $2 million deal beginning in 2020, as reported by Fox Sports.

The Cowboys and Wests Tigers were also believed to be keen on Ramien, but Cronulla was always his preference.

The Sharks are believed to be salary cap compliant, with the NRL still needing to rubber stamp Ramien's deal.

The league's salary cap will rise to $9.8 million per club next season, however, Cronulla will be limited to $9.45 million due to salary cap punishments.

The Sharks are reportedly expected to try and move some players over the summer, while coach John Morris will look to restructure his backline to fit in Ramien.

The young gun enjoyed a breakout season for the Sharks in 2018 and will look to recapture that form next season.

  1. What’s the backline going to look like?

Sharks need a good goal kicker. Instead they have 4 centres in their backline

  2. Poor Duges. A little unfair Ralph. He puts his body on the line every week and has played 21 games this year. Not his fault he gets moved around between FB, W, C etc. Personally I think he is a FB and a very decent one too

  3. For all you Rooster bashers, here are the facts… Souffs transit lounge is on fire, followed by the Sharks…
