Justin Hodges will for the second time coach the Queensland Under 20s side as they prepare to face the New South Wales Under 20s on July 11.

The former Maroons centre, having played 24 games for Queensland between 2002 and 2015, is invested in mentoring the next generation of young Origin stars.

Hodges will assume the lead position on Thursday when the team goes into camp on the Gold Coast later this week.

The Under 20s match will be the curtain raiser for the third State of Origin match next Wednesday, being just the fifth time these two teams have met.

NSW have won all four encounters between the teams, with Hodges trying to this year reverse that outcome.

The squad contains promising emerging NRL talent along with the best-talented players in the Intrust Super Cup.
