Selwyn Cobbo has been recognised for his outstanding 2026 State of Origin campaign, taking home the Ron McAuliffe Medal as Queensland's player of the year.
The Dolphins winger was awarded the medal by the Maroons coaching staff after playing a starring role throughout the three-game series.
Cobbo missed out on selection for Queensland last year but returned to the side in 2026 and featured in all three games for the first time since the 2022 series.
The 24-year-old started on the wing in each match and proved particularly influential in Queensland's Game 2 victory, producing a hat-trick to help the Maroons level the series.
Across the three matches, Cobbo scored four tries, laid on one try assist and produced four line breaks, while running for a total of 552 metres.
His Origin form capped off an impressive first season with the Dolphins, having joined the club on a one-year deal before earning an extension earlier this year that will keep him at the club next season.
The Dolphins have since moved to secure Cobbo's services on a longer-term basis, with the club locking him down for another four years to ensure they retain the winger beyond his current deal and avoid competition for his signature when he is able to negotiate with rival clubs from November 1.
Cobbo will now look to carry his Queensland form and Origin spirit into club football, with the Dolphins preparing to face the Sydney Roosters in Friday night's preliminary final.
After helping Queensland to Origin success earlier this year, the winger will be aiming to produce another big performance with a grand final berth on the line.
