Canterbury Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould has confirmed two players who won't be with the club in the 2027 season.
On October 5, Phil Gould replied to a fan on social media who asked him if Jake Turpin and Kade Dykes had left the club after asking about players who would be in the club's top 30 roster.
Yes. Yes and yes.

There were rumoured signings with no confirmed arrivals before Gould confirmed four signings on October 3.
Both Dykes and Turpin were on one-year deals for 2026. They were among seven Bulldogs still off-contract before the Tigers confirmed they had signed Bulldogs lock forward Kurt Mann for the 2027 season.
Dykes arrived from the Cronulla Sharks in August 2025.
The fullback managed nine NSW Cup games in three years due to injuries, including an ACL tear in 2023, cartilage surgery in 2024 and a ruptured patellar tendon in April 2025.
However, in 2026, Dykes played 17 games in NSW Cup for the club, scoring 10 tries, nine try assists, 46 tackle breaks, 10 assists, while running 97 metres per game.
He finished the final four games of the 2026 NSW Cup season running 132 metres or more in each match and scored six tries in that stretch.
When the club signed Dykes, Phil Gould believed the young fullback would flourish in the Bulldogs system and that his ability to play fullback and in the halves was an asset.
The 24-year-old son of former Sharks player Adam Dykes never established himself in first grade at Belmore.
Turpin's exit closes a chapter that began in 2024. The former Brisbane Broncos and Sydney Roosters dummy-half re-signed with the Bulldogs late last year, declining a two-year offer from Manly.
He played only three first-grade games in 2025 and seven in 2026.
The Bulldogs had already confirmed the exits of Josh Curran, Lipoi Hopoi, Jonathan Su'a and Bronson Xerri, while Marcelo Montoya retired mid-season to take up a coaching and wellbeing role at the club.
Neither Dykes nor Turpin have been signed by a new club.
The Bulldogs have 25 players currently contracted for their 2027 roster, with five spots remaining.
