Penrith Panthers forward Kalani Going is understood to have secured his immediate future at the club, signing a one-year extension that will keep him in Panthers colours for the 2027 season.
The 29-year-old was off-contract at the end of the season after joining Penrith from the New Zealand Warriors on a one-year deal, having established himself as one of the standout forwards in the NSW Cup.
ESPN has now revealed that Going has agreed to remain at the Panthers for another year after making four NRL appearances for the club this season, taking his career tally to five following his 2023 debut for the Warriors.
While his opportunities in the NRL have been limited, Going has continued to make his mark in the NSW Cup, featuring in 17 games for Penrith this year and recording an impressive 93.6 per cent tackle efficiency alongside 42 tackle breaks.
His form at reserve grade level follows a standout 2025 campaign with the Warriors NSW Cup team, where he was named the club's NSW Cup Player of the Year after helping them claim the premiership. Going also captained the side throughout the season.
Having already shown his ability to lead and perform consistently at NSW Cup level, Going's versatility across the forward pack has made him a valuable depth option for the Panthers, while his four NRL appearances this season have provided further first-grade experience.
He will now have another opportunity to push for a more regular role in Penrith's first-grade side when he returns for the 2027 season.
