The Penrith Panthers have announced Jed Cartwright has signed a three-year deal with the Panthers.

The 20-year-old forward has this week commenced training with the club after being released from the final year of his contract with Gold Coast Titans.

Cartwright played 14 games for the Titans NYC side in 2016 after making a successful transition from the centres to the second row.

"Jed has shown tremendous potential coming through age-group football and is now ready to commence the next stage of his development," Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM said.

"We believe he is an NRL player of the future."

The Cartwright name is synonymous with the Panthers. Jed's grandfather Merv Cartwright is considered the club's founding father, while his own father John Cartwright played 188 games for the club and was a member of the 1991 premiership-winning side. Jed's uncles David, Cliff and Michael also played for the Panthers and his cousin is current Panthers NRL representative Bryce Cartwright.

"We are absolutely delighted to have another Cartwright representing our club," Gould said.

"It's only natural that Jed should be playing here with the Panthers."
