Penrith have suffered an injury blow in their pursuit for a top four position, with young fullback Jarome Luai suffering a syndesmosis injury during the Panthers’ loss to Brisbane on Friday night.

Luai will now see a specialist for the injury on his left foot, and will now be sidelined indefinitely.

Penrith will know more about the length of the 21-year-old’s injury layoff after meeting with the doctor.

The Panthers will be hoping Dallin Watene-Zelezniak might return from a hamstring injury in order to replace Luai in the backline.

  1. Caleb Aitkins can come in for DWZ if he isnt fit. Dont know why they are trying to rush DWZ back we have depth and players who can get the job done, Atkins debut was great against the sharks he ran for over 300 metres.

  2. Anyone would wonder why Aietkins wasn’t picked at fullback against Brisbane? He’d had a good game against Cronulla.
Luai was found out , out of position at fullback several times. Have to say well done to Brisbane with that. He’d played fullback before, but it didn’t look like it in that game.

  3. Yeh. Hats off to Penriths depth and pretty much on top in reserves and Flegg cups.
I dont know how they do it but they have more 1st grade suited players than any other club.
Drums are beating louder that they will have a new coach in 19.
