The Newcastle Knights have confirmed the signing of centre Tautau Moga to a three-year deal commencing in 2018.

Moga made his NRL debut in 2012, playing for the Sydney Roosters before linking with the North Queensland Cowboys in 2014 and the Brisbane Broncos in 2017.

The 23-year-old has played 49 NRL matches.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Tautau to the Knights next season,” CEO Matt Gidley said.

“Tautau is an athletic and exciting outside back and he will be a great addition to our squad.”

Moga joins Kalyn Ponga and Aidan Guerra at the Club in 2018, while Shaun Kenny-Dowall has arrived at the Club mid-season.

“We continue to build our squad for next season and beyond and plan to have further announcements over the coming weeks,” Gidley concluded.

  1. They needed a couple of decent forwards and a half decent playmaker, don’t understand why they continue to sign backs?

  2. Just not enough forwards on the market Ese has signed he is an awesome player. Apparently we are in talks with Brenton Lawrence and Jimmy Hooper reported we have signed Connor Watson so our signings aren’t looking to bad. Have to remember we are losing Gagai at years end hence signing Moga and SKD

      • Tyrone is not what we need back. He’s good in a utility role, but not as a main playmaker. Knights have two talented halves in Brock Lamb and Jack Cogger, looked to have signed Connor Watson and are trying to sign Maloney.
