Manly have confirmed the release of prop Darcy Lussick effectively immediately, to allow the 28-year-old to take up an opportunity overseas.

Lussick was off contract at season’s end, but has now signed a deal with the Toronto Wolfpack.

He also has a three-year deal with the Canadian club starting next season.

“We have decided to release Darcy today so he can accept this great opportunity to further his playing career overseas,’’ Manly CEO Lyall Gorman told

“This was too good of an opportunity for Darcy to pass up, so he leaves the Sea Eagles with our blessing.

“Darcy has proven to be a fine player and a good ambassador for Manly. We thank him for all of contributions both on and off the field. We wish him well for the future.”

Lussick played 64 games for Manly in two stints with the club, from 2011-2012 and 2016-2018.

The prop had a stint with Parramatta in between, and has played 117 first grade matches.

  1. Not to say he would of been the best prop around, but injuries definetely hampered his career, and he showed in 2016 what he was capable of ha img a great year and leading a very inexperienced pack around, never took a backwards step in attack or defence, and from all reports was very popular with the players there..
Will be missed, but on bright side, there is the missing cap covered already for next year

  2. Yeah we do have a few off contract, I hope we resign Shaun lane, I think he’s been very good this year in the prop rotation… even with the salary cap drama, starting minus 330, loosing lussick and getting rid of brown, both on 350 year each, plus this years left over, actually should be in good shape to recruit.
Hoping we resign Hastings, very versatile and seems to have his attitude in check atm…
