Manly have confirmed the release of prop Darcy Lussick effectively immediately, to allow the 28-year-old to take up an opportunity overseas.

Lussick was off contract at season's end, but has now signed a deal with the Toronto Wolfpack.

He also has a three-year deal with the Canadian club starting next season.

“We have decided to release Darcy today so he can accept this great opportunity to further his playing career overseas,’’ Manly CEO Lyall Gorman told seaeagles.com.au.

“This was too good of an opportunity for Darcy to pass up, so he leaves the Sea Eagles with our blessing.

“Darcy has proven to be a fine player and a good ambassador for Manly. We thank him for all of contributions both on and off the field. We wish him well for the future.”

Lussick played 64 games for Manly in two stints with the club, from 2011-2012 and 2016-2018.

The prop had a stint with Parramatta in between, and has played 117 first grade matches.
