Manly have confirmed the release of prop Darcy Lussick effectively immediately, to allow the 28-year-old to take up an opportunity overseas.

Lussick was off contract at season's end, but has now signed a deal with the Toronto Wolfpack.

He also has a three-year deal with the Canadian club starting next season.

โ€œWe have decided to release Darcy today so he can accept this great opportunity to further his playing career overseas,โ€™โ€™ Manly CEO Lyall Gorman told seaeagles.com.au.

โ€œThis was too good of an opportunity for Darcy to pass up, so he leaves the Sea Eagles with our blessing.

โ€œDarcy has proven to be a fine player and a good ambassador for Manly. We thank him for all of contributions both on and off the field. We wish him well for the future.โ€

Lussick played 64 games for Manly in two stints with the club, from 2011-2012 and 2016-2018.

The prop had a stint with Parramatta in between, and has played 117 first grade matches.
