Manly Sea Eagles' duo Jorge Taufua and Morgan Boyle have officially re-signed with the club.

The news of the duo re-signing comes following the Sea Eagles also confirming five players - Curtis Sironen, Moses Suli, Tevita Funa, Jack Gosiewski, and Zac Saddler - will depart the club ahead of the 2022 season.

It left Boyle, Taufua, Sione Fainu and Dylan Walker as the four off-contract players with futures still unclear.

Boyle and Taufua's spots at the club have now been confirmed however, and with no 2022 gains to their squad yet, it's thought Fainu will be given a bump up to the top 30, while Walker is also likely to be retained.

Both Taufua and Boyle have only been given one-year contract extensions, meaning they will be free to negotiate with other clubs again from November 1.

Taufua is moving into his tenth season at the club, but has struggled with injuries in recent times, while Boyle has played 25 games for Manly since signing on in 2019. He was previously at the Gold Coast Titans.

The outside back has now made 163 NRL appearances, although none in 2021, but has 87 tries to his name and is known to be well respected in the Manly camp.

Boyle, a predominantly middle forward has made 47 NRL appearances, but was limited to two in 2021 as he was squeezed well out of the top 17 at the Sea Eagles, who ended the season with a preliminary final loss to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Coach Des Hasler said in a club statement he was happy with the re-signings of Tafua and Boyle.

“Jorge and Morgan are both very good and experienced players and they will add some great depth to the squad which is so important.’’ Hasler said.
